Summer 2026 Melbourne Beach, Sebastian Inlet, & Vero Beach Fishing Report
This summer brought plenty of good fishing here on the Central East Coast of Florida. From Melbourne Beach down to Sebastian Inlet and Vero Beach, we had a steady mix of inshore and nearshore action that kept our charters busy and our clients happy.

Melbourne Beach – Consistent Inshore Fishing
We saw consistent morning and afternoon fishing. Juvenile tarpon were active in the Banana River—fun to catch even if they weren’t the largest. Redfish were abundant this season, and we had multiple double-digit days, which was great to see. Snook and trout were also around the flats and mangroves, providing a steady inshore bite.

Sebastian Inlet – Solid Snook & Tarpon
We had solid luck with snook as they moved into their summer spawning patterns, landing a number of fish over 40 inches. Tarpon were found in decent schools around the inlet. It wasn’t always a frenzy, but we had consistent action and some memorable catches.

Vero Beach – Good Numbers of Trout & Redfish
Over the summer, we've experienced solid fishing in shallow-water for schools of snook, trout, and redfish near docks, flats, and mangroves. Most of which we caught on live and cut baits. Fishing was steady throughout the season.

Nearshore – A Mix of Snook & Tarpon
We had the usual summer mix of snook and tarpon. Snook hugged the shoreline in the troughs, and tarpon were a bit further out in larger schools. We expect tarpon fishing to improve as we head into September, and snook season is just around the corner.
