Tuesday, September 20 was a pretty eventful day! I drove down the Treasure Coast to Jensen Beach, Florida to attend the annual Slack Tide captains’ event sponsored by Costa sunglasses, along with Hells Bay boats, G Loomis and, Captains for Clean Water. There were 194 captains from all over the state of Florida discussing things like water quality awareness and fishing techniques. The giveaways were phenomenal! All of the fishing guides received free hats, sun wear and deals on fishing rods, Costa sunglasses, and Yeti coolers just to name a few, along with food and entertainment! I guess with being a fishing charter guide around Sebastian and Vero Beach, Florida there are several perks. Not only do I get to do exactly what I love to do for a living but these great companies recognize us and allow us to get great deals on awesome products!

I felt honored to be introduced to the true ambassadors for clean water in Florida and the Florida Everglades, and they are the Captains for Clean Water as you'll see in one of my photos where I am signing the Now or Neverglades Declaration! I think it's important for everyone, not just fishing captains, in Florida to recognize what's going on in the Indian River Lagoon and make a stance. Please go to http://gladesdeclaration.org/ to read more and sign the Now or Neverglades Declaration , and be a part of keeping the Indian River Lagoon along with other Florida estuaries clean and safe from large companies who pollute our waterways for their profits! The declaration can help restore the flow of water south to the Everglades!
Sincerely your captain,
Donald Andrezze
