August is over and like always, it has been phenomenal fishing around the inlets and beaches in Sebastian and Vero Beach, FL. This month I have had the pleasure of taking my guests out chasing tarpon up and down the beaches. If you have never landed an adult sized tarpon you are missing out on a fight of a life time. The tarpon we caught this month have ranged from 30 to over 100lbs.
The snook are stacked all around the inlets and beaches in Sebastian, Vero, and Fort Pierce. This month the snook action has been consistent through most of the day. A good friend of mine, Walter, who is an avid diver in the Treasure Coast area called me recently and said that he has seen more snook this year than ever. Walter is a native in Fort Pierce and has been fishing and diving that area his entire life. Remember, snook season begins September 1st so, if you’re looking to take one home book your charter in advance.
The snapper bite was pretty decent this month in the Inlet and around the bridges in Fort Pierce. The snapper were all good sized fish caught on the incoming tide using cut greenbacks. Permit were another quality fish on the list this month, and not only do they put up a great fight but they are also a delicious fish to eat. We are moving into September now, so Book your charter in advance and let's go fishing!
